We gain some and we lose some. Throughout our lives we’ll meet people that will be part of our daily living here on earth. Some will make big impacts in us and others will just ruin our self being. I’ve had friends that changed me whether for the good or bad. Sad to say not all of them will stay part of your life. People will go no matter how much you ask them to stay. It’s not your choice to make whether they want in or out of your life. But I firmly believe that those few that stay are people that God has given you.
Look for a friend that encourages you. As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). A friend that will stick with you no matter the situation. People tend to look at others differently the moment they see a flaw in them — those are the people you don’t need in your life. Seek for a friend that will use the bible to give you advice rather than theirs. Don’t look for someone that will bring you down. Always find a friend that will be behind you when you fall. Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
In the end, it’s not about keeping promises or being the best friend. It’s all about having the bond that will not break. Try to remember all you friends and thank God for every single one of them.

ADD: Seek Him First
It’s a shame how we tend to cry to God the most only during our toughest times — we only seek Him when we really need Him. The good thing about God is that he doesn’t care whether you “use” Him only when you need Him because He’ll always be there for you. What kind of friend will He be if He’s only there for you during good times?
These past few days I’ve been going through so much worries and stress. And as a bad habit, I tend to solve it on my own first rather than look up to God and ask for help. You see, God uses these situations for us to humble ourselves and submit all our stress and worries to him. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Instead of looking at our hands and thinking what we can do to resolve the situation, we should learn to lift them up and surrender it all to God.
God will never fail you. It is us who fails him. Because when things go wrong God has always been beside us but yet we reside on the help of friends who may or may not give us the right advice. If you’re looking for answers, open your bible and let the word of God speak to you. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me (Rev. 3:20).
Call up to God and seek Him first. After all, He’s our source of strength.
